“Following the death of Raish Ahmed after the profoundly concerning incident in Custom House, my deepest condolences to his family as the police continue with their investigations about this serious crime.
“The Council's social workers are supporting his son and family, as it works with the police to reassure the wider community. Cllr Amar Virdee, Cabinet Lead for Community Safety and Crime, and Cllr Shaban Mohammed, Cabinet Lead for Housing Management and Modernisation, have visited and spoken to neighbours to provide reassurance.
“All of us are rightly troubled about how such a horrific event could have happened in our borough leading to the devastating loss of Raish's life.”
