Do you know a local resident, entrepreneur, group, organisation, or company making an incredible impact in Newham? If so, it’s time to nominate them for a 2024 Newham Civic Award sponsored by Berkeley

  • If you live, work or learn in Newham you can nominate inspiring individuals or organisations for an award to recognise their contribution
  • Nominations opened on Tuesday 15 October and close on Monday 11 November
  • Winners will be honoured at a grand Awards Ceremony with the Mayor of Newham and Council Chief Executive

Do you know a local resident, entrepreneur, group, organisation, or company making an incredible impact in Newham? If so, it’s time to nominate them for a 2024 Newham Civic Award sponsored by Berkeley.

Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz OBE said: “There are so many fantastic people and organisations in Newham who make an incredible difference in our community in all sorts of ways. Our annual Civic Awards are a way of celebrating and thanking them and are always an inspiring highlight of my year.

So please think about the neighbours, entrepreneurs, groups, organisations and communities that you see doing something special, valued and amazing in our borough and nominate them for the recognition that they deserve.”

For 2024, there are 10 categories of award altogether and anyone who lives, works or learns in Newham can make as many nominations as they would like to these. 

The first eight categories are for different kinds of contributions:

Award categories for individuals:

Good Neighbour Award

Outstanding Contribution Award sponsored by Excel London

Award categories for an individual, group or organisation:

Green Champion Award

Youth Excellence Award sponsored by Westfield Stratford City

Awards categories for groups and organisations:

Community Wealth Builder Award sponsored by Lendlease

Create and Thrive Award sponsored by Foundation for Future London and East Bank

Well Newham Award

Stronger & United Together Award

Nominations are also open for the two highest honours Newham can bestow:

Honorary Alderperson nominations are for former Councillors who have rendered outstanding service to the Council.

Freedom of the Borough recognises individuals of distinction or those who have made significant contributions to the borough.

The deadline to submit a nomination for the Newham Civic Awards is Monday 11 November, 23.59pm.
